Mason & Hamlin adds new "baby grand" to piano line
Model B has big piano sound in small piano size
March 14, 2007
Mason & Hamlin has just added a new model to its line of handcrafted pianos.
At 5'4", the Model "B", could be called a "baby grand", but it bears little resemblance to most pianos with this designation. In short, Mason & Hamlin's legendary characteristics (tonal clarity, pitch consistency, touch responsiveness and superior craftsmanship), the qualities that have distinguished its pianos since the first Mason & Hamlins were produced in the late 1800s, are all present in this magnificent new instrument.
Designed primarily for urban markets like New York, where living space is traditionally smaller, the B fills a need of the piano buying public. Company executive vice president, Tom Lagomarsino explained: "Many pianists have sacrificed quality to get an instrument that fits their living space. We've brought out the B to give them everything they want in a piano in a size that just happens to fit anywhere. Why should anyone settle for an inferior instrument when they can just as easily have a big piano in a small package: the Mason & Hamlin Model B?"
